Mothers always seem to have a sixth sense, and A$AP Rocky's mom, Renee Black, is no exception. Long before Rihanna became the rapper’s partner and the mother of his children, Renee had a feeling that her son and the pop superstar were meant to be. On a recent episode of The New York Times' “Popcast,” Rocky shared how his mom nudged him towards RiRi, despite his initial hesitations.
“My mother used to say s–t like, ‘I know you like this girl that you [are] with right now’ — I ain’t gon’ say no names — ‘but I want you with RiRi,'” Rocky recalled.
Though Rocky, 37, and Rihanna, also 37, were friends for nearly a decade, it wasn't until 2020 that the pair took the leap from friendship to romance. Rocky admitted that Rihanna had "always been my boo," and that they shared a unique connection. "We were on the same page. Born the same year. My dad is from her country... It's so many similarities, it's just funny. We laugh about it a lot," he said.
The couple has since welcomed three children: sons RZA Athelston, 3, Riot Rose, 2, and their 4-month-old daughter, Rocki Irish. Their bond is not just romantic but familial, with Rocky expressing gratitude for the timing of their relationship.
And the love story doesn't end there. Rihanna recently dropped hints that she might be ready for another addition to their family. In a cheeky comment on "Love Island" alum Montana Brown's post, Rihanna seemed to ponder her next move – "get hot and sexy or get pregnant in 2026." Her playful comment, "Wait! So I’m not crazy then? Bet!" suggests that baby number four might not be too far off.
With a relationship that seems to have been written in the stars – and endorsed by his mom – A$AP Rocky and Rihanna continue to captivate fans with their love and growing family.
